The duration is between 2 to 3 months if all the requirements are met and all documents are provided at the right time. 

We cannot control when IRCC will reply to you, but it is better you submit your request in good time to avoid delay. Their time frame is solely at their discretion.

Steps for the Master’s program

Once your loan is approved and you have made your 30% contribution, at the point of applying for Visa, they would send a letter to Immigrations, Refugees and Citizenship Canada(Canadian Embassy) that they would be financing your education in Canada via their loan process which they are known for. This letter guarantees the fact that you will not be a liability but an asset to the Canadian community. They would also issue you a letter to submit alongside your documents at the point of applying for Visa. Your letter will obviously tally with the letter they have earlier sent to IRCC otherwise called Canadian Embassy which validates your request. 

This is because the greatest challenge of Canadian Government is that most Nigerian students drop out of school because they can no longer afford the school fees hence becoming a liability on the Government. Most of them resort to shelter homes financed by the government and charity organisations and they hang around to do menial jobs. This has become a great burden to them. Once they have certified that your total tuition or school fees has been adequately sorted out, you will not have challenge with issuance of visa. It has been discovered that 90% visa request are turned down because they do not have the required financial capacity.

How Do I Repay My Loan: Big Question

There are two major ways you can repay your loan:

• Family support from Nigeria. We usually advise parents to support their children until they are fully stabilised and not live them to the wind.

• You are also expected to work as soon as you arrive in Canada. At arrival, you will be issued a Work Permit at the airport. Your minimum monthly income based on minimum wage is between $1,000 and $2,400.  Loan repayment is between $300 and $600 monthly. This makes repayment easy.
